Letter: A Bit of Hypocrisy
Austin American-Statesman
July 5, 2008
It seems that what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander when it comes to suing in Texas (“Limited help for lawyers’ victims,” June 23).
While some personal injury lawyers loudly denounce the caps placed on punitive damages in Texas, these very litigators embrace limits when it’s one of their own being sued by an abused or ill-served client.
The hypocrisy shouldn’t go unnoticed. When it benefits them, the personal injury lawyers are all about protecting themselves at the expense of the “little guy” that they so loudly claim to protect.
Sincerely,
Kirsten Voinis
